August Meeting called to order by District Rep Tony Railsback with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for brothers and sisters lost.
Roll Call: District Director, Treasurer, Board Member at Large, County reps from Reno Co, Sedgwick Co., Cowley Co., Butler Co. and Harvey Co.
Kit Williams subbed as Vice Rep and Tammy Ward as Secretary due to absences.
Guest/new members acknowledged, Guest Bobby Chipman, Gina Flagel, Joe Rose and Tanner Lowe.
Guest Speakers: Richard Bartel reported on the Chill from earlier this year, had a great turn out had 39 classes in bike show moving it up to 42 classes for next year. Then he spoke on The Summer Set Bike Drags & Show Nationals on September 16-19th . 65 vendors, 10 race classes, Dyno challenge, Concessions and beer garden. Camping and showers available. Dist 8 will have a booth set up.
Rick R. spoke on a couple of upcoming rides: Bicycles for Kids Annual fall poker run is September 18th registration is at 10:30am to Noon Starting location is TBA call 316-529-4998 for more information. Also on September 11th is The ride for leukemia to honor 6 year old Reese Naylor starts at DebRicks (4553 S. Broadway, Wichita) from 10-11 am any questions call Monica @ 316-841-4018.
Reading of Minutes of last meeting was waived.
Treasurer’s report was given and approved.
Products Report- Robert brought in a new patch he had made, voted to buy 10. Still waiting on coozies.

MILE report - Sis not in attendance but Tony passed along that we still need basket items this year theme is horses but anything to do with Kansas would be great. If you plan on attending and need a room contact Sam she has some rooms reserved for dist 8.
State Report - None given due to the fact that the State meeting is to be held after our district meeting.
Old Business, RCBO discussion was voted to be tabled for now. Lake Perry rally was discussed, Dist 8 has vendor gate again this year, need volunteers to help work! Sam said that pets are allowed but only in camp and on a leash. Clean up weekends are here for the rally site, Kit stressed that people are needed after the rally for clean up, seems there hasn’t been enough help in the past. Still selling meat bundle tickets, discussed maybe a prize for top seller, deadline November meeting. T&O drags weekend of August 21st at the Kansas International Speedway. We have a paid ad in the race paper, looking for volunteers for dist 8 booth. District elections Tony, Kit and Ed nominated for current positions no new nominees.
New Business: Tony spoke on toy runs insurance and that it needed to be turned in soon. Kit Spoke on Dead End Rally in Peru, KS and that the 1st weekend in October will be the last rally that Turbo puts on. Congrats to Rose and Joe Rose ( yes its Rose Rose) who got married July 10th.
Upcoming events…Reno county, regular meetings 3rd Tuesday. Anchor Inn at 7. Harvey Co: Meeting August 29th, Heritage Park. September 26th Toy Run. Sedgwick County Meeting at T&O drags, Robert spoke on local wrecks and showed video of the “the bike that doesn’t crash” October meeting is on the 23rd at 2045 Fairview, Wichita. Cowley Co: November 13 Toy Run. Butler Co.: August meeting Sunday the 15th 1:30pm at the Legion in El Dorado, Toy run October 2nd.
